A Sudden Urge To Travel
May 20, 2007 by Shirley Allard
Today I wish that I was free
To travel as I wish
To places I have never been
But know they do exist.
I’d find the soft and gentle kiss
Of a salty ocean air
As gentle breezes slowly tease
Their fingers through my hair.
Searching out the warming sand
Each precious grain runs through my hands
Awaiting the moment; that rhythmic glide
Of waves that accompany an incoming tide.
And at the end of this dreamer’s day
Under life’s wing, content, I would lay
Listening to the sounds of spring
Sharing its sweet, silent whispering.
