The future, that would in its wake, unfold
Would you have chosen still to wander in
And find yourself somewhere you’d never been?
Or simply walked away and missed the chance
To hear the song that caused your heart to dance.

death comes knocking
at the door
pain and suffering
are no more
relations come
and quickly flee
leaving death
alone with me
tired eyes
impending doom
shallow breaths
a sterile room
compassion whispers
“go to sleep,
seeds you’ve planted
now you’ll reap”
a hand is held
now cold and frail
awaiting death
the final nail
as one last sigh
escaped your lips
death’s grip released
my fingertips.

ashamed to light the way or just stand by.
Humanity will suffer, justly so
For every time a child is made to cry.
A just and fair reward we must impart,
for those who prey on innocence and trust.
For every child who knows a broken heart,

I put my faith in, blindly
and did my part as such
Then love snuck up behind me
and stole my only crutch
And now I wander aimlessly
completely out of touch.

Does not the tree shed withered leaves
Yet grace the keepers lawn
Does not the flower release new seeds
Then obligingly move on
Does not the love, if love at all
Gain strength from what has passed
Though seasons change, the tree remains

A walk on the beach was the perfect ending to our trip to an outdoor wedding in Rhode Island last weekend. The weather was HOT, the air was HEAVY and the wedding was BEAUTIFUL! But the beach was HEAVENLY!

She stood in awe of beauty
that caused her heart to speak,
weeds flourished in abundance
round this flower, so unique.
Her heart would have her sever ties
to hold it in her hand
her mind accepts that holding it

I waded through the shallow bay

The Robin sits and silently she grieves
As quickly as the turning of the tide
The mighty hawk has swallowed up her pride
