Random thoughts
July 21, 2007 by Shirley Allard
Being a poet isn’t something you do
But rather, it’s something you are.
A wise man says what he has thought about
while a fool thinks about what he has said.
Deprivation of knowledge makes way for fools.
…and over by the twisted tree, is a shady spot
that use to be, in another world, another time,
a favorite place of mine.
Above all else I have loved my children
And when they left muddy footprints
on my shiny kitchen floor
I thanked God they were able to.

I like your thoughts… have you ever considered linking them into an essay? I think you have ‘the right stuff’ to do so…
Well, thank you. Sometimes I only have time to write random thoughts and then I’ll go back and expand on them when the moods hit (or I find the time.)
I market my poetry printed on framed prints. A lot of these snippets come from those prints.
