Father sits and sips his tea
And dreams of me in lust
The cup reflects the shame in me
But keep it in I must
As Mother preens her greenery

It’s lonely when the room is filled
with everyone but you.
No other voice has breached the void
that you have stormed right through.
Thoughts of quiet conversation
and a steady focused glance.
Filled with mutual fascination
Fates will rarely grant the chance –
For the magic and the music
To engage in blissful dance.
