I sat through the sermon
held your cold lifeless hand
as they told you God loves you
and of miracles planned.
I propped up your head
as you listened to hymns
and waited for miracles
to transform your limbs.
I woke you from sleep
to expose you to dreams
you replied with your eyes
“God is busy it seems.”
