A Wish For You
September 21, 2007 by Shirley Allard
To have the time, with each new day, for living
to watch the sunrise, time for play, for giving.
To look inside and see your best, and use it
and disregard what doubts suggest– refuse it!
To have the strength to dream, but see them merely
as a way to see reality more clearly.
To take the time to bare your feet and wander
through grasses wet and sweet with time to squander.
To spend some time alone, to get to know ‘you’
to play and sing with awe-struck crowds before you.
To have the hopes, with each good-night, that tease you
to morning’s light, with wondrous things that please you.
And most of all, I wish for you, that soft and gentle kiss
that surely awaits, and contemplates, your return from the abyss.

Sage advice… it reminds me not to question why or whither, but to enjoy the ice cream on my plate. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thank you, my friend. After working in a nursing home I have come to appreciate the quality of life over mere quantity!
I loved reading “A Wish For YOu”. It reminds us stop and enjoy life a bit. Great Rhyming.
Thanks Brenda. That was exactly the point when I wrote it.
