Remembering…
Heavy, humid morning air
a gentle calming breeze.
The remnants of a nightmare
I enjoy, though ill at ease.
Barefoot in the morning grass
soft rain against my skin.
I feel a hint of yesterday’s hell
in this heavenly moment I’m in.

Observant and contemplative… your need to share the suffering of others by acknowledging remnants of good fortune on your own part, derived from the same example of nature’s fury, exemplifies you as a poet.
Even in times of peace, bad memories can haunt us.
Beautifully done…
Thanks everyone for your thoughtful comments. –Shirley
Hello Katrina

I do a little poetry writing myself and I love reading poetry also. Good work.
