Winter Magic
December 11, 2007 by Shirley Allard
Snow drifts all through the late night storm
thin ice coats form,
from cold rains’ freeze
that wraps the trees.
A world of white will soon emerge
and sun will purge
top layers of snow
to start the show.
A winter wonderland appears
then drops like tears.
From cold rains’ freeze
come crystal trees.

i do love the way things look when blanked in snow and ice… but i love it from in the house in front of the fire!!!!!
great write shirley!!!!
Me too! Thanks.
As always, well scripted. I can see what you’ve drawn and feel the words. thanks
Thanks Harry!
You paint such a beautiful picture with your words, spoken like a true artist!
I’m glad someone can appreciate an ice storm… we were without power all night last night, so I’m having a little trouble seeing the beauty today. BUT… if I could, I’d come right here to find it. Nice job, Shirley
Thank you Jo!
And Bob, drive safely and pray the lights are on! Thanks, I hear ya.
beautiful work Shirley. I can’t say I’m all too familiar witht the imagery other than TV. Doesn’t often get that way in FLA
Well, you are truly a lucky man Oz! It’s only beautiful when we’re talking about it or sitting beside the fire. Try going somewhere and it’s not a pretty story! Thanks.
Wow Shirley; the restraints for this type of post killed me, but I see you flourished under pressure!!
Thanks Dan. You didn’t do so bad yourself! It’s one of the easier forms for me…cheer up, they have worse things in store for you. Haha.
You put it very well. Truly magical. Though by this time in late winter, I’m also looking forward to the magic of spring.
Thanks, Anthony. No doubt that makes more than two of us!
Lovely! It’s a beautiful sight.
Susan – Thank you. Although I agree with you…it’s time for some spring magic!
Far too cold for me! Bring on the dafodils I say!
