Twilight in Gloucester by Paul Cornoyer
The trip was worth the time, it swiftly passed
I had a blast.
Remembering the good old days, of your
forbidden shore.
That beckoned me to take that one last dip
one final sip.
Before I head back home and close that door
for evermore.
Though nothing is as simple as it seems
in twilight dreams.
The trip was worth the time, though now it’s past
I had a blast.

Thanks guys!
One door closes as another opens – well written and well put. This sings with your usual elegance. thanks
“one last dip, one final sip”…
Therein lies the essence of the entire poem, and a nice poem it is. A agree with Jo… and that hint fits you to a t.
Very nice! A little hint of naughtiness–a completely different take than I expected. I haven’t even started mine yet.
that was great… so sing songy and lyrical…loved it….
