To Those Who Serve
December 20, 2007 by Shirley Allard
The lights are on and all is in full swing
As Hark, The Herald Angels we all sing
The child is at the door to try and sneak
A look at Santa’s cache - the slightest peek!
The tree is standing tall beneath its star
With trim and glitz and toys and gifts bizarre
Yes all is well because of what you do
Our special ‘thanks’ go out to all of you.
For someone, somewhere, surely will be missed
Sweet someones will be longing for their kiss
Sweet children will be up and feeling sad
Cause Santa didn’t bring their Mom or Dad.
We pray that God will keep you in His grace
And soon you will resume your rightful place.
Happy Holidays!

Amen to that! We owe such a debt of gratitude to our military,..and their families! They give so much of themselves. How can you repay such a precious gift?
good poem to keep everything in perspective thanks!
It is important to keep them in our prayers always.
Looks as if you’ve been busy lately, glad to see it. Another very timely and well done piece! We owe much to those who selflessly put their lives on hold, sometimes permanently.
Indeed, here is a prayer that by NEXT season they will be home and safe
Thanks everyone! I think we all agree on this one. Merry Christmas!
Love it.

The goal is to write a poem for every fallen solider, but not many people volunteer.
Although it is not my project, I promote it whenever I can because I believe it is important to give what we can to our soliders.
