Relativity

The perspiration of aspirations
gathers as you toil
With pen you lance, at circumstance
approaching midnight oil.
With truth, you coax your words to dance
each syllable on cue
While you strive to beat the masters
I aspire to be you.

Nice tribute… and I think he’ll appreciate it.
Yes, very nice!
Thanks Guys. I wrote this when I first met Bob Hazelton and he was still trying to convince me that he was just an Average Poet! Right!
this is lovely… for some reason thee is an overwhelming feeling of “coaxing” words going on this week…..
“With truth you coax the words to dance each syllable on cue” I love those lines. Shirley, I’ve yet to come across one of Bob’s average poems and the tribute he gave you is rightfully due!
Thank you Dan…on both counts. I’m sure Bob has some ‘average poetry’ hidden away somewhere as none of us get that good without a lot of hard work and persistence.
the cadence, the tone, the attitude… yup, that’s Bob
great work Shirley, dead on.
Thanks Oz. Being another of his long-time fans, you would know.
Just wanted to chime in that it’s a beautiful tribute, beautifully written.
Hi Keats, Thanks! (I’d rather call you Keats than Knot)!
