Mercury In Motion
January 24, 2008 by Shirley Allard
Like mercury on a smooth steel plate
A solid illusion in fluid state
Rolling and flowing and lying in wait.
Once shattered and scattered to hell and back
Their holy illusions and pretenses crack
Revealing who’s dealing with a deck that is stacked.
Those self-appointed as God’s ‘holy men’
Abusing our children while condemning OUR sin
Are pardoned by demons that rule from within
Allowing deception to serve them again.

You tell ‘em girl… “holy men” can be as poisonous as mercury - and to think, he was the ancient god of healing….
Thanks Harry…go figure!
Very powerful piece Shirley, nicely done.

Thank you, Sir! Nice to ’see’ you!

Wow, just last night i was involved in conversations of such.
See, I’m psychic too. Either that or psycho!
Shirley, this is excellent. You grabbed me with the first stanza, and then with each line you reeled me in. One of my favorites.
Thanks, Dan. I appreciate that.
You illustrate with few words the reason I left the church, never to return. By covering their ass from fear of litigation, they bartered away their soul. The schism is, in my opinion, irreparable. Beautiful poem, though…
Thanks, Bob. I figured you would relate to this one. I think a lot of people are disillusioned because of their sins which are much harder to forgive than any we may have committed.
