Limitations
April 4, 2008 by Shirley
I can’t possess the moment of the breeze
Or capture smells from flowers growing wild
I can’t abolish painful tragedies
Or dry the painful tears of every child
I don’t recall a time I did not long
To save the world and rescue every heart
I don’t think small but I have been so wrong
To think that I could carry out that part
I won’t give up although it seems in vain
My passion to find justice in this world
My powers to rekindle dwindling flames
Are limited but still will not be hurled
I cannot let my love of life expire
As long as there’s a spark I tend the fire.

keep that fire burning
and i would hate to have to live in a world,, without people like you in it…
Yes, you are a crusader, Shirley. If there were more like you, the world would be a better place.
Thanks guys…and right back at you!
One limitation you don’t have is the creative expression with your words. I love this one.
Thanks, Kerri!
You make others want to tend the fire too, Shirley. Or at least find the spark…if not at the very least hope for one. So beautifully put.
you’ve got flow.
