Struck
April 16, 2008 by Shirley
They babbled like a brook in spring
She wondered why they came
Oblivious to everything
She did not know their name
She shrugged her shoulders, endlessly
To signify her doubts
And searched for signs, repeatedly
Of her own whereabouts.

Some days are just like that, aren’t they? Not to worry, they’ll move along when they take a notion. Ha! I like this one… very intriguing.
Yes, this is intriguing. But at the same time, I think I’ve felt that way many a time. I don’t fit into a lot of crowds.
I love poetry! Sorry guys but I was actually describing the actions of my mom-in-law who suffered a stroke a few days ago. But, you both took something from it that meant something to you and that is what I love about it. It’s open to interpretation . Thanks for your loyalty… even when it seems like I’m saying nothing there’s always something there.
And Jo, I have the same problem.
We are all “out of time” or stuck in our own motions - well said.
Sorry to hear about your mother-in-law, Shirley. Hopefully not too severe and she’ll recover. I too believed it was about finding a place in the ‘puzzle of life’ where we will fit.
Thanks, Harry!
She’s doing great Dan and you’re right. Watching her try to function and fit in without the ability to comprehend made me realize that without our memories and communication skills we really are nobdoy in nowhere land! Thanks.
