of filling up your head
you struggle to retain your thoughts

but each new batch of written word
all deserving to be heard

The honeysuckle fades
The hollyhocks and marigolds
Begin their grand parades
A slow transition’s taking place

He’s really cute and everything
but he’s older – in third grade!
