There is no path to follow
In our search for hallowed ground
For every hill and hollow
Leaves us unsure where we’re bound
Conflicting highways beckon
We proceed on shaky ground
The straightaway to a heavenly hell
Goes deceptively round and round.

Indded. Perhaps the largest delima of human nature is the failed aspect of “free will” and knowing which way to go. I think that is why so many people follow nut bags, because they are all too willing to tell you which path to follow (usually the wrong one).

Yes, good point Shirley. In that case it is complimenting the poems meaning. I read it again, and like it more now with that perspective.

Hey Travis, good point. But isn’t it also representative of the repetition that makes us feel we’re going round and round and getting nowhere?
Thanks for reading.

Shirley, Very Nice. Who can predict the chaotic nature of the world. The most we can accurately predict is it’s unpredictabilty. We can only move round and round in this constant cause and effect motion. I like poems that rhyme, they feel so smooth. This one though, I thought the “ound” sound got repetive after the 3rd time.
