To know the truth and speak it well
to know when not and when to tell.
To hold my tongue when angers strike
and never tell a truth in spite.
To talk of only simple things
wonders of weather, smells of spring.
To never put my feelings down
when others feelings are abound.
To know myself and think of me
as someone who was meant to be.
In no way different than the rest
as bad as the worst; as good as the best.
And when life crashes down on me
to try my damndest to be free
of all the hang-ups, all the woes
to say “that’s just the way it goes.”
The person that I strive to be
is somewhere deep inside of me.
The shell of me, portrays the mold
the best of me has not been told.

Jeez Bob, after partying all weekend at Jo’s place you didn’t even send her wedding photos? You’re in deep you know what!
Thanks, Jo. 🙂

In theory, I suppose it is… however, desiring to do something and actually being i>able to do something are two distinctly different considerations. I’m sure that lots of us would kill (euphemistically speaking, of course) to be able to create well-thought-out, concise expressions of lucid poetry that sings with every syllable, but I’m also pretty sure that most of us will, in all likelihood, fall short in our attempts. You would seem to be the exception, in my opinion… the ‘improvement’ curve, in your case, is quite steep and approaching a zenith.

Well, I’d say as long as we keep trying to improve ourselves, the same is true for all of us. Wouldn’t you?

If the best has truly not been told, then I look forward to reading it when it is. It promises to be quite inspiring…
