Never in our wildest dreams
Did we ever dream so clearly
Of gifts that couldn’t be opened
Presented oh so dearly.
The glossy wrap and tidy bows
Enticed our childlike pleasure
Of facing the darkness and feasting our eyes
Upon that wished for treasure.
A ‘do not open til Christmas’ greeting
At least assured a ‘someday’ meeting
Fueling hopes with new found pleasure
Of unwrapping that gift and exploring our treasure.

A nice poem for this time of year. I like the whimsy of it.
I’m stopping by from the carnival.
