I struggle to keep the warmth inside
never to let it escape me
trying my best to forget
the words that hide within
yet there’s little hope
we’ll share the warmth
of the flame
we once
lit.
Ashes to Ashes

Yes, Katherine, “A beautiful little poem. There is a strength of self even while you recognize the loss. Very nice…”
Let’s read it again, far from each other, like ex-friends, like ex-lovers, like human beings alone somewhere, in own solitude: we all need some light, some bits from what we had given to the Other, to the Others:
I struggle to keep the warmth inside
never to let it escape me
trying my best to forget
the words that hide within
yet there’s little hope
we’ll share the warmth
of the flame
we once
lit.
We lose nothing, we are not loser, even when we can’t see the flame or when can’t feel the warmth…This is the life.
Everything is energy, light, never disappeared…
This poem is very realistic, not pessimistic. Beautiful because sad, yes, but no sad!
thanks, Shirly

Thank you, faruk. It’s a great feeling when so few words provoke such deep thought!

nothing can bring back the flame once it has been reduced to ashes- unless new fresh woods are added and a little spark.

Sad, yet not.
“never to let it escape me”
This felt like someone holding on to a good place, while the bad moves around.
Great Poem

That is very well written. Sad. But hopeful for new flames to be ignited eventually.
