A twinkling star
once caught my eye
and never left my sight
from somewhere afar
it hovers on high
and casts a blissful light
on sacred ground
where dreams have found
a place to spend the night.

….this sounds like it should be sung as a bedtime song to some sweet child who would surely dream sweet dreams as a result…

I like the understated nature of this poem – the way the star has a massive effect on you (an expectation also set up by the title) but the way you write it out is not overly grandiose or pretentious – illustrates the profundity of the effect in a gentle way, which makes it *more* impacting.

I really liked the soft sounds in this piece – sight, light, night…eye, high…It’s all very calming.
I enjoyed this very much.
